About the Hosts
Ian Bowie
I am a language educator, writer, poet and creative soul. My main interest in AI is in the virtually limitless possibilities it allows to create meaningful, comprehensible input to enhance language acquisition and improve communication.
Michael Stormbom
I am a language technology expert with a keen interest in music production, game design and digital arts. My main interest in AI is to go beyond the hype and to make AI work for us – and not the other way around.
Regular Fake AI Contributors
What self-respecting podcast about our modern digital society would be complete without a stable of AI-generated contributors?
Emma Williams
Emma hosts the recurring segment “Emma’s Artificial Reflections”, where she sums up the themes of the podcast episodes. Although ChatGPT believes her to be a graduate of both Cambridge and Stanford and an expert in the field of AI and ethics, Emma is in fact is completely fictional and AI-hallucinated.
Alex Retrovsky
Alex is AI Unfiltered’s retro correspondent, providing insights from the ancient past (the 1980s).
Much like Emma, Alex is completely fictional and AI-hallucinated. Alex’s voice is generated with Say, a speech synthesiser application originally included with the Amiga family of computers in the mid-80s.
Sarah Chan
Sarah provides sporadic insights into the world of AI. A Silicon Valley native and a graduate of Stanford and MIT, Sarah is actually a real person… no, kidding. Sarah is completely fictional and AI-hallucinated.
